The FAQs on the support site seem rather vague as to exactly what and how protection is provided.
You could ask them and preferabky ask them to publicly post that information. I somehow doubt your Banks technical experts will be in a rush to try to explain that. And what it does to benefit security that Firefox is not able to do. It might be interesting to know specifically what this version of Trusteer does that is of benefit to the customer, rather than being a money earner for the bank. I had previously suggested you may wish to try Firefox ESR if Trusteer Rapport was slow in releasing a version suitable for the current Firefox, release but either they have not updsted their support document or there is a posibility they did not update their support as the document lists esr 45.0 as being supported but business users will be on esr 45.5.1 by now. I suppose it may be that Trusteer Rapport have changed the software on your computer, without you noticing, and maybe it again is not supporting Firefox despite what their support site says. ( At least as long as you do not upgrade to 64 bit Firefox - but most Windows users do not do that.)
I presume that is the correct support site and applicable Software. (Possibly some transactions then involved an additional verification step )įirefox will still be the same major version, as when you first asked this question, and now the current Firefox Release 50 is listed as being supported on Trusteer's support site: It may also be worth noting when I last used Trusteer for UK banking transactions I did discover transactions would be handled by Firefox without any problems if I did not use the Trusteer software. I think you will need to contact your Bank and Trusteer for a proper explanation. (It may be a bit early to know yet if a lot of other Trusteer users have similar problems).
